Jeanie, could you use a couch? Just give me the word, cuz I'll load it right up and bring right down, I'll be there in 3 days. lol. It's free. But actually, all that snow is already gone, but we are supposed to get some more tonight or in the morning. So far the weather has'nt slowed me down at all yet, I have alot to do to my house in town, just packing boxes, cleaning up and fixing a few minor things etc. It all needs to be done anyway.
lol Sure Mark, bring it on down! lol Glad to hear the snow has stopped for now and that it isn't slowing you down. Hope it holds off for a bit. I can imagine the fun you are having sorting and packing... I do not envy you Mark.
Hehehehe, now there's a picture!! I just finished reading all of the posts I missed over the past while....and wow... you've been busy, my friend! Good work! Ummmm, you keep that fluffy white stuff right where it is though...I'm NOT READY YET!
Hey Cath, that old couch served me well, and thats the thanks it gets hey? It poked me with a wire, more than once. lol. Our snow is gone for now, but it is kinda in the forcast lately.
I am a 50 year old guy. I have been living off grid in an 8x24 foot shack since Oct 25 2009. (Finally moved into the house in the fall of 2012). So far I am loving every minute of it. My solar power system is working better than I have expected from it. Shortly after moving out here, it turned real cold for about a week. Pretty close to minus 40 C/F. I thought I was in for a deadly cold winter, but it actually turned out to be pretty mild from what I am used to. I am in the process of building my dream cabin(home), but things have been moving along rather slowly, mostly because of lack of knowledge, and alot of the time I get busy on my pay job. It would really be kinda neat to be in the new house by this winter, but I will make no promises. I am going to remain off grid, because I like it. I used to worry about what everyone thought of me for wanting to live like this, but now that I have been doing it, and know that it totally works for me, I don't really care what anyone thinks anymore. The more I live like this, the more I feel that I am actually the smarter one. lol. If anyone has any questions or comments, please feel free, I would love to hear from you.
This is a personal blog, mainly for my own use. I am building a house with my own two hands, but I am learning alot of things as I go. I do not claim to know what I am doing, or if anything I do is even close to being done correctly or safely. So please, if you are planning on using any of my ideas or methods for your own use, please get professional advice before actually following through with your actions. I will not be held responsible for any injuries or damages of any kind caused by information or comments from this blog.
Shoot Mark, It's starting to look kinda cold up your way! Hope you didn't get enough to cause problems.
ReplyDeleteI'd send sunshine to ya if I had any. :)
